Create customers from recipients + more info on Send summary
A few updates to features and UX as we continue to refine the upload workflow.
New customer creation option on Sends
Added the option to treat each recipient in the upload as a customer in Shopify when generating orders in your Send. This is a new option on Step 1 of a Send. Instead of picking or creating a single customer for all orders in the Send, you can use each recipient as both the billing and shipping customer on individual orders. This is useful when importing orders from another platform for fulfillment via Shopify, for instance.
When selecting this option, you can also opt the new customers into marketing notifications, assuming you have their permission to do so.
Note: this works best when you have an email address for each recipient. Without an email address, Shopify will not include a customer on the order.
Updates to Send Summary page
The Send Summary now includes more detailed information about the Send and individual orders
Order table now includes option to view all order details including address, product(s), shipping rates, subtotals and totals, notes, and additional details.
Full summary of customer, aggregate order amounts, send settings, etc.
Additional Items
Automatically restore the customer's default address after generating all orders, when a Send is associated with a single customer. This changes Shopify's default behavior of setting the most recent shipping address to the default when creating orders via the API.
After a Send is completed, we also remove all the recipient's addresses from the customer's account address list. This prevents that list from growing to potentially hundreds of addresses and making it difficult for a customer to find their personal saved addresses when completing a regular purchase.
On Step 5 - Finalize, added the ability to download a CSV with all the finalized info for each row in the Send, including products, final addresses (including edits/updates), Tags, Notes, Additional Details field, and cost columns (Product Subtotal, Shipping, Discount, Tax and Totals)
